Rest Church
In this season of moral crisis and political terror, the work of justice has become more dangerous and more important. Following the example of Jesus and many in the Church’s history, we are committed to making our community a place where all can flourish. But doing that work is costly to our spiritual, physical, and mental health.
The work toward justice is for the long haul. We must rest.
Rest Church meets on second Sundays at 5pm for a meal and a short service of rest, rage, and hope.
Here’s what to expect:
At 5pm, we will share a potluck dinner — bring what you can, and we’ll have a big pot of nourishing soup on. At 6pm, those who want spiritual care and practices of rest will transition to a time to rest, reflect, and connect.
We will sing.
We will pray.
We will reflect together.
And we will support each other before we leave to return to the work we are called to do.
