Wednesday, November 28th, December 5th, 12th, & 19th
7:00 PM – 8:30PM
The weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas seem to fly by in flurry of friends, family, and wrapping paper! The beautiful season of Advent can easily be lost in the shuffle. We invite you to take a little break and go a little deeper this Advent with the contemplative spiritual practices of Lectio Divina (sacred reading) and Visio Divina (sacred images). We will use contemporary poetry and images to encourage the opening of our hearts to the mystery of the season and the deep longing in each of us for Emmanuel – God with Us. Our sessions will follow a gentle rhythm each week that includes a brief introduction of the practice, experience of the practice, reflection, and sharing as you are led. On December 19th , along with our Visio practice, we will also have an intergenerational event for our children (and those adults who would like to spend time in an inter-generational space) to create a piece of artwork that will be a part of our decorations for Christmas Eve and all of Christmastide. We will have invitations on our Welcome Board in the Narthex, so that you can invite friends, neighbors, family members, anyone who you think might appreciate a chance to hit the pause button, and dwell in the presence of the Holy this Holiday season.
